April 2010 TownLife Release Notes

TownLife has received so many amazing updates (over 150) we have created this page to help illustrate them!

TownLife Automation

• Full Revisions: now using the page revision feature will also include custom banners and headers
• Email Accounts: are now available in the Settings menu for account overview and password changes
• Upload Document: while viewing the HTML editor a new icon  has been added to allow easy document uploading from any location directly into your document library!

• Upload Photograph: from the HTML editor you can now upload a photograph directly into any photo album
• Auto-Link: images 'inserted' into your webpage will now automatically link to your photo album

• Full Website Subscriptions: now alert your visitors for page & main module changes and notification daily/weekly/monthly by web visitor choice (look for RSS notifications shortly)
• Insert Hyperlink: links to events, blogs are now easier and available in the resources tab

• Administrator Shortcuts: more options have been added for you to easily manage your website from the inline toolbar
• From Who?: Blog and Photo comments will now be from the email address of the sender to allow you to easily click reply when receiving these requests, previously they were sent from our support email address

Action Steps

• Icon Options: now offer hundreds of options for your new action step links

• Orientation Options: allow you to display your action steps horizontally with just icons if you really needed to save space

Event Module

• Event Details: has been changed to highlight the description information
• Required Phone # & Email: addresses are now mandatory from visitors submitted event information
• Upcoming Event: time stamps now match the site time zone

Bylaw Module

• Improved Search: now allows for better results
• Layout Modified: to reflect easier information retrieval

Blog Module

• Latest Blog Comments: listing on your home page will now display latest blog comments and blog topics
• Required Emails: addresses are now mandatory from visitors submitted event information

Business Directory

• Map Geocoding: geocoding engine updated to place locations more accurately
• Map On/Off Switch: now manually decide to show or hide the map for each business in your directory
• Description Limit: description field limited in length for more consistent output

Template Designs

• H4 Headings: have been modified from solid background colour to more visually appealing output
• Wider Options: 1024pixel templates are now available

• Highlight Locations: for users on our 1024 templates the site highlights location can now be moved from the left/right columns (right or left sidebar in the 3 column layouts)
• Webmaster Layouts: webmasters now have the ability to modify page layouts when managing multiple TownLife sites
